Stephens Cup IV October 6 - 8, 2006 Kentucky Dam Village History of The Stephens Cup The Stephens Cup started many years ago as a fall golf outing between Weldon Stephens and several sons. Instead of playing a few rounds of golf locally the crew headed to Illinois, Kentucky or Indiana in order to meet up with Joe who had taken up residence in Nashville, TN. After years and years of simply Weldon and his sons, the elder grandchildren who had taken up the game pressured to go on the annual pilgrimage. Once the oldest had finished five years of college the doors finally opened. For the next few years the tee box opened for several other players. The annual Stephens golf outing often included various friendly wagers to add a little bit of competition. But in the fall of 2003 the level of competition completely changed. While the gambling continued, Bob and Jack developed a new team format competition. The winner of this competition would be awarded The Stephens Cup.
